First performance on stage

The video below is my first time doing an on stage performance. It was for my brother's wedding day (18th June 2011 @ Tropicana Resort).

Had a few screw ups on the keys and very noticeable squeaks. Not a good performance but a great 1st experience nonetheless. Still a long way to go for doing gigs. Need to learn more improvisation and breath control.

Guitarist was the bride's younger sister. We were doing only 1 song as a 'siblings performance' for the evening.

  1. Congratulations!!! You sound good!

Your tone and rhythm are quite good; seem to be very nervous though. Don't be afraid to play out and fill your notes fully (they are a bit short for a slow song).

Lastly, Don't over use the note bending.

    Congrats again!

  3. Brien, thanks for the compliments. It was a very nervous experience on stage, and as I review more of the video there are many many areas for improvement. Will take note on the bending and filling out the notes.

Tempus, thanks. I think you'll need to just start with what you can afford; monetary, time or effort. Keep it up...

  4. If you are breathless due to being nervous, playing a guitar is no sweat - blowing is really more difficult! Being up there is already an accomplishment! Good job!
